I finally got a photo of my progress on Gathering Honey! The top left section of the garden is finished, with the exception of all the backstitching. The lettuces are backstitched and the two-tone green border is partially backstitched, but the rest I still need to do. Above the lettuces are another plant that will look totally different with backstitching. See if you can guess what they are. I know I've said this before, but backstitching sure makes a design come to life
with detail! Even though I've taken many breaks from this project, it hasn't been a hassle to stitch. In fact, it has been the most enjoyable project I have stitched so far. Because of all the color changes and spaces of fabric separations, I haven't gotten tired of any one particular color...yet.In the close-up pic, you can really tell how the backstitching makes a dramatic difference. I'm looking forward to finishing this whole sampler so I can enjoy it on my wall.
Have you figured out what the plants are above the lettuces? They are cactus with out their needles! See what I mean about the backstitching thing!
