Messing About In A Boat

I stitched this for my husband in 1989 while we were dating. He had seen this quote cross stitched in a friend's cabin for years and admired it. He showed it to me on one of our boating trips. The original design was the quote only. I charted the words and added the 3 designs which I got from a nautical sampler that appeared in Cross Stitch & Country Crafts magazine. It is stitched on 14 count fiddler cloth and framed in barn wood.

Hi, nice to see your work. It's lovely to see the work other do or have done. Good luck with your son. I know it's not easy.

This is from Kenneth Grahame's book, The Wind in the Willows: "Well, I must tell you, there is nothing, absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in a boat, or with a boat, or around a boat, it doesn't matter which."
